The European agricultural fund for rural development:
Denmark and Europe invest in the rural areas.

The purpose of the application for subsidies toward tending
our salt meadows is to maintain the natural flora and fauna.
Cows and calves eat the grass so bird like the lark
and several wading birds can find suitable nesting.
The animals also prevent the areas from developing intowoodlands
and control invasive plants such as hogweed and Japanese willow herb.
We have been organic farmers since the middle of the 1980s
in order to increase biodiversity and lessen the environmental
impact of agriculture e.g. by not using pesticides and artificial fertilizers.
When it became possible to apply for subsidies for organic farming, we did.
